Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
Hello GitHub Education Team,
I am applying for the GitHub Student Developer Pack from India.
My official academic name is:
Pavitra S
This is exactly how my name appears on my college ID and other academic documents. In South India, it is common to use an initial instead of a full surname.
My GitHub Education application was rejected with the following instruction:
"Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your last name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information."
However, I cannot comply with this requirement because the GitHub billing information form does not allow a one-letter last name. When I enter:
First name: Pavitra
Last name: S
the billing form displays the error:
"Last name is too short."
If I enter my father's name (Selvakumar) as my last name, then my billing information no longer matches my academic documents, which show only "Pavitra S."
Because of this, I am unable to satisfy both requirements at the same time.
Could a GitHub Education staff member please advise how I should enter my name in the billing information so that my application can be verified?
GitHub username: @pavi116tra
Thank you.
